Birthday Comics and Cupcakes
This weekend I had a (early) birthday party at my favorite comics shop, The Comic Bug! Comics and cupcakes with my favorite people, there’s no better way to celebrate a birthday!
The Comic Bug was an ideal place for a birthday party, there’s so much to see and it’s incredibly spacious so there’s room for everyone. The family friendly store made it easy for friends with kids to bring them along, so they didn’t have to worry about a getting a sitter.
The shop was open throughout the party, so comic books provided all the decor I needed, my idea of heaven! DJ C-Diddy spun 80s tunes, Spider-Man and Iron Man were shown on the big screen and of course, I put out a big spread of desserts for everyone to enjoy.
Mini root beer cupcakes and chocolate ganache cupcakes, Green Tea Yoda cookies, Chocolate Vader cookies and Hello Kitty cookies. Oh and Pop Rocks. Lots and lots of Pop Rocks.
Where there are geek girls, there are Star Wars dresses. Just like cosplay, except much more comfortable. There was lots of party talk about favorite superheroes and it was fun to see guests browsing the aisles and checking out all their favorite comics.
It was great to see all my friends in one place and hopefully a fun time was had by all!
So much fun, and such a cool place! Em is obsessed with all the comic books I picked up for her while I was there.
