Book inspirations

This weekend is the American Library Association conference. My mother is a librarian and I remember spending every summer in the library checking out books. My kids are big readers too, both are reading at grade levels quite a big higher than they’re in and a lot of that has to do with choosing books that grab their interest. They love quirky stories with adventures and tall tales.

The only way I’ve encouraged them to read is by joining in their excitement of certain books and bringing those stories to life with food. You’d be surprised at how many stories revolve around eating. Here are a few of the kid’s favorite books and the food inspired by them, and support your local libraries!
