Burger Cookies

This is the go to cookie that I make when I need to go to a party, always a crowd pleaser it’s super simple to make with all pre-made ingredients. A Nilla Wafer on it’s own, a peppermint patty on it’s own, it’s not the same. There’s something about the melty combo that makes them taste fantastic.

Add in some red icing for ketchup, yellow for mustard, or just leave your burgers plain. However you make them they’re irresistible when it comes to cuteness and taste.

green food get dye
sesame seeds

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep a baking sheet with a silpat or parchment.

In a small container with a sealed lid, add the coconut, green food gel dye and a few drops of water. Cover and shake until the coconut is tinted green. Set aside.

Place 24 Nilla Wafers flat side up on the prepped baking sheet. Place an unwrapped Peppermint Patty on top of each cookie. Bake in the oven for 1-2 minutes until just softened.

Top with the tinted coconut, then press the second Nilla Wafer on top—rounded side up—to form the burger.

You’re right, these are a great go to cookie for parties!!! I have a similar receipe that I use all of the time.
Instead of the york peppermint patty – try using a Keebler Grasshopper cookie (or a girl scout Thin Mint – but they are more expensive!)
Then instead of putting them in the oven to melt the chocolate, I mix powdered sugar & milk to a thick consistency, add yellow & red food coloring to resemble the shade of cheese.
Spread the “cheese” between the bottom “bun” and the “burger”, then again on top of the “burger”, sprinkle on the “lettuce”, then add the top bun. Once the “cheese” sets a bit it will harden and keep everything together.

Those are great. I think I will have to make them for my daughters party on Sat.

  7. Miranda says:

For Carrie — how about using a peanut butter patty cookie instead of the peppermint patty? Like the Girl Scout Cookie called Tagalongs, but you can get them at the grocery store year-round.

I have a friend who makes these. They’re always such a treat!

I make these cookies as well but I use the Keebler grasshopper cookies with the vanilla wafers. I take equal parts of powdered sugar and milk with red/yellow food coloring to make the ketchup and mustard. They are a great kids party pleaser!

I loved the Cheesburger in Paradise Cookies but did not like the idea of raw egg white, so I spread the egg white and seseme seeds and baked the top for 5 minutes at 350. Cooled them, and they were fine.

  19. justJENN says:

@Frances Ew. I just use water to keep the seeds on, not raw eggs.

I made these years ago and couldnt quite rememebr the recipe. I know I sed little tubes of red, and yellow decorator drosting to make ketchup and mustard. A friend also recomended to use chocolae frosting instead of the mint, for those who dont like mint. But i like it the regular way.

Other than that the only thing I did was place the bottom cookie flat side down to resemble a hamburger a bit more.
