Gray Jell-o Millennium Falcon

I was so excited when I received the giant sized Star Wars Millennium Falcon silicone tray for my birthday! I make a lot of Star Wars food so I wanted to come up with something new and creative. In the past I’ve made Leia cupcakes, Blue Milk, edible carbonite, even an homage to the Battle of Yavin out of chocolate! Then it hit me, what substance could possibly make the Kessel Run in less than twelve parsecs? JELL-O, of course!

Kotobukiya products are outstanding. The detail is so precise, I wanted to make sure you could still tell that this was the Millennium Falcon, so I knew I had to make the JELL-O…gray. Gray food is not appetizing. When I told the kids we were having gray JELL-O for dessert, let’s just say there were doubts. However, when I came out with this big Corellian ship, they were all for it. Gray food for everyone!

She may not look like much, but she’s got it where it counts. In flavor.

Gray Jell-o Millennium Falcon

Ingredients:

2 packets Knox gelatin
1-1/2 cups boiling water
10 ounces condensed milk
black gel dye

Instructions:

In a bowl dissolve the gelatin in the boiling water. Add the condensed milk and stir well.

Using a toothpick of black gel dye, just lightly touch the mixture with the dye. A little goes a long way. Stir together until a gray color appears.

Pour into the Millennium Falcon mold and refrigerate for 4-6 hours until solid.

Jell-o is really delicate. So to unmold, carefully pull away all around the edges of the ship. Your patience will be rewarded. Finally, with one final plop, turn it out onto a serving plate.

Just look at the detail in this edible Millennium Falcon! Every nook and cranny in glorious gelatin.
