Knott’s Scary Farm 2014

I was invited to the most terrifying press conference ever, the kick off for Knott’s Scary Farm 2014! Even press wasn’t safe, as masked ghouls terrorized us in our seats before the press conference even began!

To quote maze designer Gus Krueger, “I want you all to be so miserable that you will have the most horrifying, disgusting, disturbing immersive experience that you will both never want to end and can’t wait to get out of it. I want all of you to hate me because of what I am going to do to you this year.” That pretty much summed up the press conference and all the details we were about to see for this year’s event.

This year marks the 42nd year of Knott’s Scary Farm. Started back in 1973, this haunt-fest has grown into a 24 night affair that features the return of Elvira, the legendary Mistress of the Dark, endless horrifying mazes, and a thousand monsters lurking in the fog.

Knotts Scary Farm

2014 is bigger and more frightening than ever with 11 themed walk-through mazes including new attractions making their debut. Zombie fans will love Special Ops: Infected, where guests get weapons and can tally up their zombie kills. Voodo, TRAPPED: Lock and Key and The Tooth Fairy, which is not for the faint of heart or people with a fear of the dentist, let me tell you. Everything is new and more interactive than ever!

No place in the park is safe as there are four scare zones across 160 acres, Ghost Town, CarnEVIL, Fiesta De Los Muertos and the Gypsy Camp. All full of 1000 live monsters, ghosts, ghouls, goblins, freaks, mutants, maniacs and other beasts lurking in the fog to scare even the bravest guests!

Elvira Knotts Scary Farm

There are two spectacular live shows, The Hanging® in Calico Square and the return of the one and only Elvira – Mistress of the Dark in an all-new show featuring the Academy of Villains.

This year Knott’s Scary Farm is better than ever for fright fans who just can’t get enough with the addition of the Knott’s Scary Farm Pass that allows unlimited visits for 24 nights of terror. They’re also offering The Skeleton Key, which is included with all Fright Lane passes, and “unlocks” a secret extra room inside of five mazes and offers unlimited priority access to nine mazes and haunted attractions all night long.

If being scared out of your wits is your thing, Knott’s Scary Farm is tailor made for you this season!
