slow chops (crock pot pork chops)

This recipe is fast and easy. Just throw the junk in, turn it on, and eat. Great if you work. Or have kids. Or have no time. I have all three going for me…

slow chops
ingredients:
8 boneless pork chops
salt and pepper
one small onion (sliced)

1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
3 Tablespoons honey
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 cloves garlic, crushed

slow chopsPlace pork chops in the slow cooker. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss sliced onions on top. (If you want to use them, that is)

Mix all the ingredients and pour on top. Cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. Uh…that’s it!

I don’t like to serve things out of the slow cooker, or any pot/pan for that matter, it doesn’t look nice. I am definitely a serving plate kinda gal.

So if you transfer these to a serving dish, make sure you pour some of the liquid over the chops. Because pork is…well, pork, it dries out fast, and these are tender and soft right out of the cooker. However, let ‘em set for a while and you’ve got dry city up in here. Sauce is tasty, work with it!

The recipe isn’t listed here but I made your Cinnamon Vanilla waffles yesterday and they were GREAT. As I don’t have a waffle maker, I just thinned them a little bit and they made the BEST PANCAKES.

    They passed the Kid-Test.
    Thanks for the calories LOL

This recipe sounds really yummy. Question: I thought crock pot stuff had to have the liquid covering the food…does this one not have to? The soy sauce and ketchup don’t sound like enough to cover. I’m a crock pot novice.

    Thanks!

Oh - these look so yum-e! I’m going to try them. I’ve been looking for a good pork chop recipe and the fact that this one is a crock pot recipe is even better. I’ll post back when I’ve tried them.

Arianne, sorry, I missed your comment! Liquid doesn’t ALWAYS have to cover the whole thing in the crock pot. Try this recipe first, and if you think it needs more liquid you can always add the next time around. I suggest adding about a cup of orange juice, if you want more liquid action!
