Universal Studios Hollywood Celebrates Lunar New Year 2019

It’s Lunar New Year! 2019 is the Year of the Pig and Universal Studios Hollywood is ready to celebrate. From Saturday, February 2 to Sunday, February 17, Lunar New Year festivities will be in full swing and and is included in the price of admission to Universal Studios Hollywood.

The beloved characters from Kung Fu Panda are the centerpiece of the Lunar New Year festivities. DreamWorks’ Kung Fu Panda Jade Palace Performance Stage will feature the Dragon Warrior Training Show while Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop serves up delicious culturally-themed food such as Po’s Dumplings, Dragon Warrior Bao, Oogway Eggrolls, and Secret Ingredient Stir Fry Noodles.

Being able to interact with Mr. Ping is a dream come true. Watching Po work with him in the noodle shop was one of my favorite scenes from the film. Now guests can talk with him and take memorable souvenir photos. Other fun Lunar New Year character experiences include seeing my favorite girl-cat Hello Kitty, as well as the Minions, all dressed to impress in traditional Chinese attire.

But what I look forward to most every year at Universal Studios Hollywood is a Mandarin-speaking Transformer’s Megatron. It’s cool to see him engaging guests in Mandarin and in real time conversation!

Other uniquely themed experiences offered in Mandarin include the theme park’s signature Studio Tour and the exclusive VIP Experience, featuring expertly-trained Mandarin-speaking tour guides both opportunities provide insight into the world of movie-making magic.

Universal Studios Hollywood is fun to visit any time of the year but the Lunar New Year festivities are truly special.
