Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting
There are buttercream lovers and cream cheese fans, and cream cheese fans are die hard. Versatile in it’s usage, cream cheese adds an authority to frosting making it perfect for cakes and cupcakes that require a little more heft to their structure. This cream cheese frosting is full of vanilla flavor, making it a nice compliment for virtually any flavor of cake!
Vanilla Cream Cheese Frosting
Ingredients:
8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla
pinch of salt
Instructions:
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat together the cream cheese and butter. Slowly add the powdered sugar, vanilla and salt.
Turn the mixer onto high until the frosting is light and fluffy.

Doesn’t say how much salt is needed (which I find to be a regular omission in online recipes!). And if you’re adding salt, why not use salted butter?
@Traci It’s a pinch of salt and I don’t like using salted butter because you can’t control the salt and I feel like it changes the texture.
