Vanilla Sea Salt Ice Cream

Years ago I had Sea Salt Ice Cream at Tokyo Disney Sea. I thought it was crazy back then, but now that salty+sweet has become so popular, it almost makes sense. I hear this is also big with the anime peeps.
I had this very expensive Vanilla infused Sea Salt leftover from some cupcakes I baked, so I decided to try to make my own version of the ice cream. Of course if you don’t like salt – don’t make this.
ingredients:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Sea Salt

In a bowl, combine the heavy cream and the milk. Whisk in the sugar and the vanilla.
Pour into your ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer’s directions. When the mixture begins to firm up just a bit, I add the salt. When it is done, transfer to a sealed container and freeze.
This makes for a unique salty-sweet treat.

I love the use of the the flavored salts! one of my other foodie blogs stops – girlichef – is always using some in her various recipes
That looks wonderful, I need to host a party now and serve this dessert!
WOW, love the sound of this oneā¦make my own flavoured salts all the time, and this is sending me in a whole new direction!
