Where To Find Discount Disneyland Tickets

If you go to the parks regularly like I do, you’ll see the small increases here and there for snacks and souvenirs. When I noticed that cotton candy went up 50 cents after I had just been there the day before, not only did I realize major changes were in the works, I also realized maybe I go to Disneyland too much…

One increase you can count on every year is the that Disneyland raises their ticket prices in the Spring. The difference this time, it was done overnight without any announcement. This is a bold move because in the past at least 24 hours warning was given so that APs could reup ahead of time or at least people were given time to make a decision about purchasing.

This particular increase is important for many reasons. One, the Premier pass which allows access to parks on both coasts has now made the jump to over $1000. Two, the Southern California pass is gone completely as an option, forcing you to choose between the lower SoCal select which has limited their days further, meaning NO WEEKENDS. The only other choice is to go to the higher Deluxe pass which is now basically double the SoCal select price. The parking pass also took a hit and has significantly jumped to a 13% increase.

So what’s the best way to get discounted Disneyland tickets?
It’s always changing but here are a few options:

1. Southern California City Pass
If you are just visiting, the SoCal City Pass is a good option to hit the major theme parks at a significant savings. For $328 for adults and $284 for kids 3-9 you can get a 3-Day Disneyland Park Hopper plus a Magic Morning, a one-day to Universal Studios Hollywood and a one day to Sea World. You also have the option to add on the San Diego Zoo/Safari Park and Legoland for an additional fee.

2. AAA
The Automobile Club offers discount Disneyland tickets for single park, park hoppers as well as annual passes. They haven’t updated their website to reflect the increase, so jump to it before they change the prices.

3. getawaytoday.com
Get Away Today is a great resource for booking Disneyland vacations but they also offer park tickets by themselves.

4. Parksavers
Another ticket broker, Parksavers offers a variety of discounted Disneyland tickets.

5.  Youth Field Trip Discounts
If you are taking a group of 10 or more kids for a field trip, Disney Youth offers discounted tickets for your party. Check out disneyyouth.com for more information.

6. Credit Unions or Employee Discounts
Check with your credit union or employer. Most companies still provide discounted tickets for their employees. Even if the discount is slight, it’s better than nothing.

7. College discounts
Colleges often offer discounted passes at their Student Union. Sometimes these are seasonal depending on  your school.

8. Military discounts
Discounted tickets can be bought on the military base at a Disneyland ticket booth with military ID.

*As a side note I do not recommend buying tickets from ebay or craigslist. These are usually a scam and you will end up shelling out more money for new tickets at the gate anyway. Not worth the risk.
