Seriously. What isn’t tasty when you add bacon ane brown sugar? These are always a super hit at parties, and the crock pot makes them easy!
ingredients:
1 package of little smokies
1 lb of bacon
1/2 cup brown sugar
you’ll also need:
a crock pot
toothpicks

Start by cutting strips of bacon into thirds or halves. (Thirds if you are cheap like me.)

Then wrap one strip of bacon around the smokie and insert a toothpick to hold it in place.

Fill the crock pot with the toothpicked smokies about halfway. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup brown sugar. Pile on the rest to fill up the pot. Sprinkle the rest of the brown sugar on top.
Turn on the pot to high for about 4 hours, and you’re done! I’d post a picture of the finished product, but they were eaten so fast, I didn’t get a chance!

just what i hope that someone has brought to the picnic kinda food – now I will bring it
These would be a great addition at my upcoming grad party!
We do this same recipe but add some honey also…about half of the smaller bottle…really sooo yummy!
what do you use for liquid in the crock pot?
Heart attack on a stick
oh my! these were delish! i had almost 20 by myself!
Just needed to check with you about how much brown sugar to use in the recipe. You say sprinkle 1/2 cup and then to sprinkle the rest but no amount is listed. Thanks, jill
@jillb Sorry this recipe is pretty loose. I only put down measurements since people asked, but I mostly do it by eye. I’d say around 1/2 cup total for the brown sugar. I layer it by using half of it first, then topping it off with the other half. Hope that helps!
We refer to this as “man candy”
