I hate frying bacon, mostly because of the clean up. Also when I make breakfast I have a lot of pans going at one time, so cooking bacon in the oven is an easy alternative. I thought drizzling the bacon with syrup would give it a little kick, and it sure did – it made bacon even better, if that’s possible…
ingredients:
1 pound of bacon (1 slab)
1/3 cup of maple syrup (approx)
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Line the bottom of sheet pan with foil. On top of that, place a wire rack.

Take your bacon by the piece and twist it, laying it on the rack. I like to do this because I think it crisps evenly without having to turn it (I hate taking the time to turn things – lazy) and it picks up the syrup evenly.

After you’ve twisted all your bacon pieces, drizzle them with a touch of maple syrup.

Bake for 20 minutes, then serve.
Goes GREAT with French Toast!

what a great bacon cooking tip – who would have ever thought that twisting them would help in the crisping and cooking department
I’ve made bacon cooked with brown sugar that crystalizes on the bacon surface when it cools, but this looks different (and probably less messy!) Never thought to twist the bacon. Which sounds like something college kids in the 1950s did. “Hey, Porgie! You comin’ down to Pop’s Sodium Shop to see Mudhead twist that bacon?” “Heck yeah!”
very cool! i like how you twist the bacon! i have a similar recipe but i put cracked black pepper as well as the maple syrup.
i will have to do the “twist” next time as well as get a rack; makes it easier instead of peeling it off the foiled pan.
I do agree with all of the ideas you have introduced for your post. They are very convincing and can definitely work. Still, the posts are very brief for newbies. Could you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Thank you for the post.
