Peanut Butter Carbonite bars
When it comes to geek love, this one’s for the ages:
Dude. When your dad freezes your boyfriend it kind of sucks. Talk about awkward.
I’ll be honest, there’s not much real carbonite in these bars but they sure are delicious. If you want to make your Geek Valentine the treat of all treats, these bars plus a geeky Valentine’s Day card will definitely win them over.
ingredients for Han Solo chocolates:
4-6 ounces chocolate
ingredients for bars:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate
2 Tablespoons peanut butter
To make the molded carbonite Han Solos, melt the chocolate in a double boiler and pour into these super awesome amazing Han Solo molds from Kotokubiya. Freeze for 10 minutes, then turn out into an airtight container and freeze until ready to use.
In a medium bowl mix together the butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Spread the mixture evenly into the bottom of an 8×8 pan lined with parchment.
Press the molded chocolate Solos evenly into the peanut butter mixture. Place in the fridge.
In a double boiler melt the 8 ounces of chocolate with the 2 Tablespoon of peanut butter and stir until smooth.
Let cool slightly, then pour the melted chocolate around the Solos, using an offset spatula to get in all the crevices.
Refrigerate for an hour, then cut into squares. Serve to your best frenemies.
