Root Beer Sherbet

Who doesn’t love a cold root beer float in the summertime, but sometimes when the root beer hits the ice cream and you don’t get to it fast enough? The float gets all runny and…blech.

How can you get that same strong root beer flavor without all the sad meltiness? I have the solution! Root Beer Sherbet is the best of both worlds, cold and creamy with all that root beer flavor you love.

This recipe couldn’t be more simple, quick and easy to make using just three ingredients, this is the treat you’ll want all summer long.

Homemade Root Beer Sherbet

Root Beer Sherbet

Ingredients:

2 (12 oz) bottles of root beer
1 cup whole milk
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Instructions:

Prep an ice cream maker freezer bowl ahead of time.

In a bowl stir together the root beer, milk and condensed milk.

Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.

Stir again to make sure the ingredients are combined then pour the cold mixture into the prepped freezer bowl and freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s directions.

When done, transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.

  1. This looks awesome! I love anything with condensed milk! But . . . I don’t have an ice cream maker – is there another method to make this? Thanks!

    Hm. Well Susan, I say pour it into a freezer safe pan. Freeze, and check on it every hour, scraping it down with a fork. That will give you a nice icy sherbet.
