Battlestar Galactica chocolate dipped Oreos
Two things my friend Christy loves: Battlestar Galactica…and chocolate. She had an amazing BSG themed birthday party (Replica of the ship out of chocolate? Cylon pinata??) and I knew I had to come bearing the gift of cupcakes. We geek girls do love themed desserts.
My journey into playing with chocolate continues as I found these chocolate dipped cookie molds. Molds aren’t a necessity but they certainly leave cleaner edges.
I used these as toppers for cupcakes because there’s no better gift than dessert upon dessert. So say we all!
Battlestar Galactica chocolate dipped Oreos
Ingredients:
1 pound Chocolate
1 dozen Oreos
frosted cupcakes
Instructions:
Temper the chocolate in a double boiler until smooth. Pour approximately two Tablespoons into the molds, then press an Oreo into the center. Top off with more chocolate.
Tap, tap, tap to get all the air bubbles out of the molds.
Into the freezer for 10 minutes then pop them out of the molds.
I printed out BSG logos with edible ink onto edible paper and cut out the circles, then simply laid them on top of the chocolate dipped Oreos.
Place on top of frosted cupcakes to serve.
So this edible topper, is this an edible paper? And what is the brand of chocolate you used? And the molds? Where did you get those?
My question is related. I see you use the edible ink/paper often. Where do you usually get it done? or do you do it yourself? any recommendations on sites/places to use?
THANKS!
incredible!!!!!!!!
I should’ve had a mind meld with you when I was doing the oreos for my sister-in-law’s baby shower. these are AWESOME! I should know by now to always consult with the Master. 🙂
