Beef Yakiniku
Thin slices of beef and a tasty marinade ensures you’ll have a meal that tastes like you put a lot of work into it.
The kids love this and I always have the ingredients on hand!
Yakiniku means ‘grilled meat’ and whether you use an outdoor grill or a grill pan over your stove, this is an easy dish to prepare during the week.
ingredients:
1 pound flank steak
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
salt
pepper
Pour the marinade into the bag along with the beef. Keep in the fridge for 4 hours.
When you are ready to cook, take the meat out of the bag and throw away the marinade.
On a grill or in a grill pan on medium high, cook the meat for 2-3 minutes, turn over and cook for another 4-5.
Serve immediately.
This recipe is almost exactly like Bistek, a filipino recipe. Except we slice the beef in pieces and also serve it with grilled onions that have been marinating with it. Delicious!
I would love to try this recipe! But what if I don’t have a grill pan? What about just a regular nonstick pan?
@Jennifer A regular skillet will work fine!
