Butterscotch apples
Caramel apples are a fall treat but sometimes the idea of working with hot caramel can be intimidating. So I’ve come up with an easier way to get adorable apples on a stick with minimal mess, by dipping them in melted butterscotch chips! Still sweet and satisfying, but so simple even the kids can help. These treats make sweet gifts or great for an after school surprise
snack!
ingredients:
lady apples
lollipop sticks
1 bag butterscotch chips
sprinkles
Lady apples are adorably tiny and make the cutest little apples on a stick. For the times when you don’t feel like eating an apple bigger than your head. Wash the apples and make sure they are completely dry. Pull out the stem and insert the lollipop stick.
Melt the butterscotch chips in a microwave proof bowl at 30 second intervals, stirring in between until melted.
Once the chips are a smooth consistency, roll the apples in the melted butterscotch then dip in sprinkles. Place on parchment to cool until the butterscotch sets.
Oh yum. I can’t wait to try these as a change from caramel apples!
