Cars 3 Miss Fritter’s Corn Fritters
In Cars 3 Lightning McQueen takes on many challenges and always, he’s supported by unique, crazy characters. I love Lea DeLaria so I was excited to see her as part of the cast for Cars 3 as the school bus Miss Fritter.
Miss Fritter loves the smash-and-crash life of demolition derby. Who doesn’t? The ability to smash away your cares and frustrations is all too much fun. Screenwriter Bob Peterson calls Miss Fritter, “the school bus of your nightmares.”
DeLaria loves cars and “As soon as we found out Lea was going to be voicing Miss Fritter, we wanted our character to feature something derived from Lea’s style,” said production designer Jay Shuster. Even the oversized rubber trim around the school bus’s windshield was scaled up to look like DeLarias’s signature thick-rimmed glasses.
“Miss Fritter is the queen of the Crazy 8 race track,” says DeLaria. “She’s wild, a little mean and a lot of fun.”
