Cherry Frozen Yogurt
Like all kids mine love frozen yogurt and to show them how easy it is to make at home I had them help me out in the kitchen. Cherry is one of our favorite flavors and fresh cherries are in abundance at the Farmer’s Market.
By using seasonal local ingredients, this frozen yogurt has a fresh, fruity flavor and is a refreshing treat for the summer.
Cherry Frozen Yogurt
Ingredients:
2 cups cherries
2/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1-1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
Instructions:
Prep an ice cream maker freezer bowl ahead of time.
In a blender combine the cherries, sugar and lemon juice.
Pour into a bowl and fold in the yogurt.
Pour the mixture into the prepped freezer bowl and freeze in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer’s directions.
When done, transfer to an airtight container and freeze until ready to serve.
I made this today switching out the sugar for agave and the yogurt for soy yogurt and it came out AMAZING. I LOVE YOU. 🙂
