Cinnamon Buttercream
I love this frosting – I use it a lot because it has that perfect sweetness!
ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
3 cups powdered sugar
3 Tablespoons whole milk
1 Tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
In the bowl of an electric mixer beat the butter, adding the powdered sugar slowly. Add the milk, syrup, cinnamon and vanilla. Speed up the mixer to high and beat until fluffy. Frost the cupcakes and DEVOUR.

I made this to be paired with the spice cake cupcakes for a recent event. I had positive feedback on the cupcakes, but they absolutely LOVED this icing! I used treacle instead of maple syrup (it can be a bit harder to find the genuine stuff here in Australia) and it gave it a lovely molasses flavour. Yum!
