Cozy Cone Snacks at Cars Land
Disneyland is already fun but when you go with like-minded friends it’s even better. And by like-minded friends I mean people who love to walk and eat and eat and walk. Rides? Oh yeah, we went on a few of those too.
The day was particularly crowded which meant a lot of lingering and walking and perhaps that’s what built up our appetites. So when we took a pit stop (pun intended) at the Cozy Cones in Cars Land we were all up for trying a little of everything.
There are five cones and each cone sells different items which is both fun and frustrating. I mean, if you have to wrangle small kids and buy food this could be a nightmare but it’s very similar to a fair food type set up, i.e. stand around to get one item, then go stand around again.
Cone 1 sold Churro Bites with a cinnamon spiced chocolate sauce. I had these on a previous visit and while they were delicious they weren’t quite the same as holding one long churro in a little wrap of waxed paper as is the Disney way. Still, they were sugary and delicious.
The drink offereings at this Cone are spiced and regular hot cocoa and Ramone’s ‘Pear of Dice’ Soda. Basically Sprite with a pear syrup added.
Cone 2 had Frozen ‘Cone’ Coctions. Soft serve ice cream and dipped cones, you can’t go wrong with those on a hot SoCal day.
The drink here is the ‘Route’ Beer Float. I am a huge fan of root beer not to mention root beer floats and these are perfect in every way. Plus you can get them in a souvenir cone, which is adorable.
Cone 3 served more of a hefty snack, edible cones that housed chili ‘cone’ queso or chicken verde. The cones are pretty bread heavy but definitely did their duty in keeping the contents encased.
The drinks served here were ‘ades, natural Lemonade and a Pomegrante Limeade. If you are a fan of tart things (which I am) this is for you. It comes with a strange lemon lime foam which seemed unnecessary but the drink itself was refreshing on a hot day. Here’s the kicker, the fine print shows that you can get this drink with Vodka. Well. Now I’ll look at people walking around with these in a whole new light…
Cone 4 featured Pretzel Bites with a cheesy sauce. Cheesy sauce was totally not needed, the pretzel bites were fantastic all by themselves. The crunchy outside and chewy inside was magnified in these small bites and was by far my favorite treat of the Cones.
The drink at Cone 4 was by far my favorite and perhaps even my favorite drink in the entire park – even better than the flavored Cokes at Coke Corner? I’m gonna go ahead and say yes. The ‘Red’s Apple Freeze’ tasted like a semi-freddo Martinelli’s. Frozen apple juice, infused with toasted marshmallow and topped with a passion fruit foam.. Again, the foam was unnecessary but it was so addictively tasty and is perfect for Cars Land which tends to be hot due to lack of shade.
The final Cone 5 sold popcorn and the flavors vary from day to day. We went for the Dill Pickle flavor and while it was good I definitely expected more Dill Pickle flavor. Then again they may have been doing us a favor by being subtle about it.
The drink at this cone is Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic another Sprite based drink with a grape syrup twist, topped off with a berry foam. Again with the foam.
Cars Land is one of my favorite themed lands and the decor and the food make you feel like you’ve stepped right into the movie. This is definitely the best pit stop for snacks at California Adventure!
