Honey Soy Pork Chops
After a long day do you really want to come home and cook or just eat? Most people say “eat” and that’s where they fall into the trap of eating out. With a crock pot life is so much easier, just add the ingredients, turn it on, come home and you’re ready to eat!
I love the smell of a crock pot cooking all day especially when the ingredients include honey and soy sauce. Sweet and savory all rolled into one, these Honey Soy Pork Chops are delicious and an easy recipe you’ll keep coming back to week after week.
Honey Soy Pork Chops
Ingredients:
8 boneless pork chops
one small onion (sliced)
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 Tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
salt and pepper
Instructions:
Place the sliced onions in the slow cooker and add the pork chops on top.
In a small bowl stir together the soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, honey, ginge and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. Pour over the pork chops and set the crock pot to low for 6 hours.
Pork tends to dry out fast so serve with the sauce immediately.
The recipe isn’t listed here but I made your Cinnamon Vanilla waffles yesterday and they were GREAT. As I don’t have a waffle maker, I just thinned them a little bit and they made the BEST PANCAKES.
They passed the Kid-Test.
Thanks for the calories LOL
This recipe sounds really yummy. Question: I thought crock pot stuff had to have the liquid covering the food…does this one not have to? The soy sauce and ketchup don’t sound like enough to cover. I’m a crock pot novice.
Thanks!
Oh – these look so yum-e! I’m going to try them. I’ve been looking for a good pork chop recipe and the fact that this one is a crock pot recipe is even better. I’ll post back when I’ve tried them.
Forgot to let you know that these were very yummy and the family loved it.
Arianne, sorry, I missed your comment! Liquid doesn’t ALWAYS have to cover the whole thing in the crock pot. Try this recipe first, and if you think it needs more liquid you can always add the next time around. I suggest adding about a cup of orange juice, if you want more liquid action!
tried these today…(drumroll, please)
yummers! they were a hit with the picky hubby and kids. thanks for sharing your recipes!
Yummy! Only problem was the pork got overcooked, but I am a novice slow cooker…need more practice. If you aren’t supposed to open the lid, how can you know if the meat is cooked? At any rate, the flavor made up for the meat being dry.
Greetings from Idaho! I’m bored at work so I decided to check out your site on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the knowledge you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m surprised at how quick your blog loaded on my mobile .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyhow, fantastic blog!
It’s going to be end of mine day, except before end I am
reading this impressive paragraph to improve my knowledge.
The brown sugar and ginger really enhance it.
