Dalgona Coffee

Dalgona coffee has taken over the internet, because what else is there to do during home quarantine? Inspired by dalgona candy — a South Korean candy that’s a cross between cotton candy and toffee — in this TikTok famous version, this sticky substance is spooned onto a glass of milk. Think of it as a reverse latte. The miraculous part is that it can easily be made at home with just three ingredients. Thus its popularity while we’re under home isolation!

Anyone can make this, and while it can be done by hand it will take a while. So unless you have arms of steel, a hand mixer is the best way to go. In just a matter of minutes it will whip into action and form fluffy coffee goodness right before your eyes.

Since I’m such a coffee addict, I actually forgo the milk entirely and just eat it as is. Note: If you plan to do that you might want to up the sugar ratio because Dalgona coffee is really bitter. That’s why it’s best served over milk, to dilute the bitterness. Still, there’s nothing quite like eating a cup of morning coffee!
