Disney Store Unlock Imagination Ceremony

If you’re looking for entertaining and inexpensive things to do this summer, have I got news for you Disney fans! Did you know that every morning at the Disney Store there’s an official opening ceremony? Much like the opening ceremony at Disneyland, this also involves velvet ropes and fanfare as all good ceremonies should!

If your child is the first one in line when a Disney Store opens (usually 10am) they are picked to participate in the “Unlock Imagination” ceremony. Yes, adults can do participate too provided there aren’t any kids in line but I’d say those chances are small.

When the store gates are lifted there’s an oversized lock waiting to be opened. A voice announces the opening of the Disney store and before long a cast member appears holding aloft a giant key. A countdown begins and after much pageantry the chosen child places the key in the lock and magically, the ropes drop to open the store!

Not only that, the child that opens the lock is given a special commemorative Disney key of his/her own to keep. They are told that they can use it to unlock they magic of their own imagination at home. It’s a very sweet and special ceremony.

With that the store is open and customers are allowed to enter to a world of magic mirrors, movies at the Disney Store Theatre and of course, shopping! Disney Store’s Unlock Imagination Ceremony is a fun way to start the day and makes for great summer memories.
