Easy Meatball Subs
Is it just me or is there not enough time in the day? Not all dinners can be made from scratch but with a little help of you can put together a delicious homemade weeknight dinner. Meatball subs are quick to make and always a crowd pleaser.
Any hot dog buns will do but now King’s Hawaiian makes hot dog buns and since I love to use the sweet tasting bread in so many of my recipes, I knew that these would be the perfect match to the savory meatballs.
Between work, homework, team practices and after school classes, this recipe will save you time and energy for a great weeknight dinner!
Easy Meatball Subs
Ingredients:
6 hot dog buns
24 cooked, frozen meatballs
1 jar marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Thaw the frozen meatballs slightly, then place in a skillet over medium high heat. Add the marinara sauce and simmer until warm.
My favorite part of these buns is that they separate from the top, perfect for filling!
Toast the hot dog buns until lightly browned.
Place four meatballs in each of the hot dog buns, along with some of the marinara sauce.
Top with the shredded mozzarella cheese and serve.
