Emma Frost cupcakes
I was asked to make Emma Frost cupcakes by my friend Sarah. I’ve made her Jean Grey Phoenix cupcakes in the past and I’m always happy to create anything that has to do with any X-Men. Plus, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to make a White Queen cupcake, I mean Emma Frost-ing is too good a pun to pass up.
Emma Frost’s White Queen outfit translates perfectly into folded white parchment around a delicate white vanilla cake with a light, almost airy mascarpone frosting. To top them off I created X-Men logos out of fondant and lightly dusted them with an edible shimmer, to give the Emma Frost cupcakes their true “Diamond form.” These cupcakes are so good they may even give you telepathic powers.
ingredients:
Very Vanilla Cupcakes
Mascarpone Frosting
White fondant
Edible luster dust
White folded parchment cupcake liners
To make the fondant X-Men logos first make a template by printing them out approximately 2-1/4″ round, then cut out the interior pieces.
Roll out the fondant to 1/4 inch thick. Place the template on top and using a clean x-acto blade, cut the interior portions out of the fondant.
Using a 2-1/4″ biscuit cutter, cut circles around the interior pieces you’ve already cut out.
Let the fondant dry out slightly. I like to use a Wilton gum paste storage board to keep them until they’re ready to use.
When you’re ready to serve, frost the cupcakes with Mascarpone frosting. Lightly brush the fondant cut-outs with edible luster dust and place the X-Men logos on top.
