Just Jenn Recipes

~giveaway~

I don’t know how it’s possible, but I’ve been posting recipes on this blog for three years. That’s a long time, and a lot of recipes. (If you came here from the other blog you know that one’s been around for seven years! That is a lot of blogging.)

To celebrate I’m having a giveaway! What can you win? Well you know I love sprinkles, I buy a lot of them and use them to decorate cookies, cupcakes, donuts, ice cream – you name it. People always ask me where I get such a vast array and I am lucky to have a lot of local sources, but now they can be all yours!

TEN different ones – stars, confetti, dinos, mini hearts (I think those are my favorite), and more – just for you~!

Just leave a comment on this post from now until Sunday. If you’ve made any of the almost 400 recipes I’ve posted here, (Seriously? Man, I cook a lot.) let me know which recipe was your favorite, I really want to know what works for you! Or just let me know your favorite thing to cook. If you don’t cook… well then why do you come here? That’s weird.

Even if you just started reading or have been here for three years, thanks so much – I love cooking for/with my kids, I love creating new and fun recipes. I always appreciate all your comments (Well, the nice ones. Ha!) and thanks for reading, it truly means a lot to me.

I’m here for the fruit smoothies! So good. The stained glass jello was fun to make, and it impressed everyone!
Since i can’t have egg or dairy I like that most of the cake and cookie recipes are easy to vegan-ise.

    Hi Jenn.
I discovered your blog about 6 months ago and I can’t get enough.
You are so creative and fun. I always get a chuckle when you prepare your little boys meal on the tray. It always looks so appetizing and fun especially to a child. I have two little boys and I think they might enjoy their meals if I prepare their dish the way you do!!!
I’ve made several of your recipes, my favorite would have to be the mini french muffins. They are perfectly balanced with sweet and savory.
I’m currently taking a cake decorating class and I make a cake or cupcakes every week so the sprinkles would be a prefect addition to my new found love of baking.

  6. CaSaundra says:

Congrats on all the blog posts–I enjoy reading!

  7. Matt V says:

I don’t remember how I first found your site, I think it was the bacon+cheese biscuits that I made last Thanksgiving. I then realized we have a lot of the same tastes (lemon, bacon, root beer) so I subscribed, and have tried a very many of your ideas. For a treat for my wife, your Fettuccine Alfredo is on the menu for tomorrow night 🙂 Thanks for the great ideas and easy instructions — keep it up!

  8. Katie says:

I made the maple cupcakes for Halloween and they were the hit of the party. Also tried the chocolate ganache cupcakes, which were delicious! Love the simple recipes!

  9. GiGi says:

I love all of your ideas and am so glad you share them! Soome of my faves have been the carrot cake cookies & root beer sherbert. Today I am making your banana crumb muffin recipe!

  10. Opy says:

    Hello~! I love your blog! 🙂

Oooo, there is so much I love to cook! My fav would probably have to be oyako donburi! Thank you!

  11. LizAnderson says:

OK, I don’t bake much these days, but I have you in my Reader. Why? I’m nosey. I like to see what other people are cooking – people that aren’t on the Food Network. I like to think I can make some of the things you do, even if my overweight, diabetic family can’t possibly eat any of it. At one time I had dreams of being a baker, so I guess I’m living through you. And if all else fails, I know I can come here for recipes and ideas for all those special family occasions.

  12. Lara says:

Oh I love sprinkles too! Or better, my kids love deciding which sprinkles we’ll use and on what.

Here’s to many more years of blogging!

  13. Shari says:

  22. Cheryl says:

I love your recipes. I have tried so many… prolly because this was the first food blog that I ever found.

my favorite two recipes are the mini French breakfast muffins and the strawberry cupcakes. I have made the fettucini alfredo, the layered jello, the pecan honey bars (okay, I take it back– that is my favorite but its too dangerous to make because I will eat the whole pan), goldfish mac and cheese, and I know Ive made more, but I cant think of them right now. I also know that I bought the Ratatouille kids cookbook just cause you loved it so much. =)

  23. Rosey says:

    Hi 😀

I’ve many of your recipes, all have turned out very successful. The one I’ve been asked to make over and over again is the Hawaiian Garlic Fried Chicken. Soo Yummy, the dipping sauce is soo delicious, I’ve even used it on shrimp!

    -_-

  24. Eva says:

I had a cake stall in greenwich (london) last year, and was looking for a cookies and cream cupcake to go with my cookie monster decor. Yours was perfect. It’s so fluffy, and works with the coconut and frosting designs on top so well! Thanks so much for your blog, we had so few really interesting toppings off-the-shelf in the UK that your creativity inspires!

  25. Quiana says:

    Hi!
I stumbled upon your blog looking for broken glass Jell-o. My family is from Hawaii and many of your recipes remind me of my time there as a young person. Thanks for the recipes!

  35. Jessica says:

I love reading your blog – especially the sweets you post, along with your kid recipes. I have quite a few of your recipes bookmarked to make “some day” but the only one I have made is the chocolate chip shortbread cookies. I’m dying to make the ice cream bombe.
Keep up the posts! They are great.

  36. Helen says:

I recently discovered your blog and now follow it regularly. You are awesome and I love your great posts. Keep it up.

  37. Tracy says:

    Hey Jenn,

I’ve seriously been using your blog as my soul source of making desserts these past 2 months since I first discovered your blog. My housemates are absolutely stunned that a college student like me can “whip up” such fancy and yet simple desserts!

I’ve been mostly trying out all of your cupcake recipes (that’s my sweet tooth) and I love pretty much all of them. The marscapone frosting was one of the yummiest! My friends also really like the filled cupcakes and the dulce de leche ones! Thanks so much for these posts…I seriously love them! <3

  38. Dena says:

I just started surfing all my bookmarked blogs again. Yours is one of my faves because the recipes are fun and interesting! I haven’t had much time to cook or bake since I went back to school last fall, but I am now expecting a baby and am feeling like Bree from Desperate Housewives now! I can’t wait to have another little one to bake for again! I love to bake more than cook because everyone loves sweets! 🙂 I don’t have one favorite. I like baking cupcakes and cookies — the prettier the better! 🙂

  39. Heather D says:

I’m not really sure how I stumbled across your site (about a year or so ago), but I’m sure glad that I did! You have the neatest ideas, especially for your children’s lunches. I’ve made the rainbow cake which received rave reviews from my guests, and you have so many more recipes that I plan to try in the future.

  40. Karleen says:

I just stumbled here, and can’t wait to stagger about a bit more. I will be looking for the lemon chicken recipe, and who doesn’t love cupcakes?

  41. Kate says:

Hi!! I just started reading your site about 2 weeks ago so I haven’t made anything yet but I have a lot of things starred in my Google reader! I really want to make the banana split muffins!

  42. Keli says:

    Hi Jenn!

I absolutely love your site, I visit it often, looking for new ideas for dinner. Cooking 6 days a week can be trying, but your ideas make it much easier! Thank you!

  43. Christy says:

*gasp* You mean, you’ve been blogging for seven years and I just stumbled upon you. I’m bummed that it’s taken me this long. Somehow, something Easter like had linked to your super cute chickie eggs (which my daughter is going to flip about seeing that hard boiled eggs are her favorite food at this moment!) I haven’t made the eggs yet (but plan to with some of the “easter eggs” I boiled last night to be colored.

As far as cooking, my latest NEW recipe that I love is Grandma’s Granola. Now, that doesn’t seem too impressive (or even a possibility in my friend’s opinion…”Can’t you buy granola at the store?” one friend said yesterday.) But this is GOOD stuff, the kind of good stuff you CAN’T buy in the store.

Your blog is so awesome for many reasons; it’s the first food blog I’ve ever read,it’s my only go-to website when I’m bored with my routine, and it warms my heart just looking at those sweet little plates you make up for your men. You’ve made me and my wonderful family very happy with your Mochiko Chicken, Broccoli Salad, Hawaiian Garlic Fried Chicken (my fave),Slow Pork Chops, Crock Pot Shoyu Chicken, and Bacon Wrapped Smokies.
