**GIVEAWAY**
I will be gone this week for the San Diego Comic Con! If you are coming, stop by and see me at Small Press table N10!
If you’ve been reading this blog you know my love of gadgets, and now here’s your chance to WIN some of my favorite things…
One of my tried and true items is my musubi maker. Not just for spam musubi, I also use it for desserts! Brownie ice cream sandwiches, rice krispy ice cream sandwiches – ok, maybe I just like ice cream.
Another favorite is my Lego man mold. Sure it’s for ice, but you know I think it’s perfect for making chocolate cupcake toppers.
Finally, this isn’t a gadget, but it is hard to find – so you blog readers might appreciate it – Hello Kitty pasta! aka the cutest pasta in the universe.
If you want a chance to win this fabbbulous prize package just leave a comment on this post from now until Sunday. Tell me your favorite recipe from this blog that you’ve tried, or heck, just why you come here to read. Like cupcakes? Scared of fondant? Love bacon? Let me know! I’ll announce the winner next week, thanks for reading!
I love the root beer pulled pork recipe. I would make it all the time if I could.
I LOVE the root beer pulled pork especially on the kings sweet bread or taro bread! I make this for my family in a double batch so we can have leftovers. Yum!
I love those mini espresso chip cookies! My coworkers were very happy with them as well!
The first recipe (link) I came across of this blog was the Donut Cupcakes. I thought that was so cute and creative! And this blog remains cute and creative, so I keep coming back π
The food always looks and sounds delicious, but more often than not there is something about the recipe or presentation that just screams original and cute.
Like for instance when I saw the Lego men toppers for the first time, I experienced that same ear-deafening scream. So here I am, leaving a comment and praying for the best!
I loved the corn salad. I made it and ate it 4 times this week π
Hi,
I just love the way you make dinner so pleasant for children, thanks to your special dinners children will eat all sorts of vegetables that they would normally not like.
I find it hard to chose which receipt is my favorite.. I would say: Lemon Ice Cream Pie. I tried it once, and it was really easy and fun to make, my guest liked it very much!
I hope I will win, cause I love the lego men π
Keep on posting on your blog!!
greetings,
Wendy
My favorite is the root beer pulled pork, too! Unfortunately, nobody around here likes it (stupid, plebian North Carolinians – did I say that out loud?), and it makes so much (I live alone). But I still make it sometimes and freeze portions.

I’ve adopted your recipe for lettuce wraps as my own. They are delicious and even my picky-eater son likes them. So many thanks!!!!
Lately I’ve been making tons of the Nutella Chocolate Chip cookies. They’re always a hit! They taste so amazing and are always gone super quick!

HI!
I love all of your cupcakes but my favorite recipe is “bakes lemon chicken”! i changed it a little bit and put some ginger and thyme instead of oregano to the mixture. it makes the lemon taste a little more intensive. so many thanks for ALL your stories and recipes and of course for the awesome giveaway.
britta
Your blog is my favorite blog that I read. I’ve made the watermelon ice cream bombe and rainbow-striped jello for my daughter’s birthday party. There are tons of other recipes I can’t wait to try. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway!
brown sugar cupcakes were soooo good! i come here for your recipes but also your fun stories of all the things you do with your kids. they’re lucky!
AHH! Dying for the Lego mold! Getting ready to try your salmon recipe….
Hi JustJenn!
I read your blog because everything you do looks like it has so much love put into it. I love your recipes and funny stories about your kids and OG. I made your cut out cupcakes once, the kind with the top sliced off, heart cut out, and then placed back on. They were a huge hit! I normally don’t comment much, but I just started a blog page so that I am less of a creeper.
I love the wide variety you post — from noodles to pulled pork to awesome cupcakes. I also really enjoy seeing how your kids enjoy the different things you prepare. I get a lot of ideas for lunches and snacks for my awesome nephew!
My version of your heart cut-out cupcakes were lemon cupcakes with a flower cut-out, and a raspberry buttercream icing.
The root beer pulled pork is big favorite here. There are only leftovers when I am able to hide some away in the freezer before everyone else gets to it.
I don’t any of your recipes that I’ve tried have steered me wrong. π Hope you have a great time at SDCC!
Another for the root beer pulled pork!
Also because someone (and I can’t even remember who it was) demanded I read. So I did. And do.
I have tried several of them, but my favorite is the Nutella bread pudding. Love Nutella! I have also used your ideas for snacks for my nephews, and they loved the Domo meatloaves! π
I love reading your blog because the recipes always sound and look fabulous! π Also, your sense of humour is awesome! XD I love the pasta! The ice cube mold would be perfect for my fiance’s brothers! And I would give the musubi mold to my friend from Hawaii~
Pulled pork in a crock pot! So easy to make & those little Hawaiian buns are perfect with it! One time I made it for a party & had two crackpots going at once & used some of the pork over nachos. Delish!
root beer pulled pork
Loved your BBQ ribs in the crock pot recipe! π
I love your blog! I’ve tried a couple of the recipes but my favorites are definitely the cupcake ones. I also love to read about your adventures with O.G.
I’ve made the broken glass jello and I tried to make the maple syrup bacon…ruined a pan… oh well!
I love the musubi recipe its always a hit at family events. The kids loved the elmo cupcakes for my sons first birthday. Thanks for sharing the awesome ideas.
p.s. yay for free stuff
You have the greatest cupcake ideas! I’ve tried the whipped cream cupcakes, and they were yummy. I didn’t try the coffee frosting, but I will next time.
Have a fun time at Comic Con!
I’ve really been wanting to try your donut recipes, but I haven’t yet. Also, the chocolate lego man cupcake toppers are about the cutest things ever!
I am lame and have never tried your recipes. But I pretty much never use recipes, so…
Lame.
Jenn, I have been very pleased w/ your recipes. And love the blog! My favs. I have tried & are not part of my go to recipes are, Mocha Cupcakes, Lemon Frosting & Root Beer Pulled Pork. I read a lot of food blogs & yours is the only one I look forward to checking in the morning.knowing there will be something great! I hope you’ll give in & go on Cupcake Wars!-Kristine
I’ve made the blueberry mochi four times already in just one month! Such a great and easy recipe. You also inspired me to buy the hello kitty waffle maker. Loves the moffles!
I love reading your blog and getting inspired to try new recipes that you post!!
Hell Kitty is my fav…but ALL your stuff is terrific! Have fun in San Diego!!
I’ve long had your blog bookmarked and check it daily. I love that your recipes are doable and clever.
the moffles recipe is a fave. i finally have a HK waffle maker to make them properly! π
Can’t wait to see you at Comic-Con! I’m sure I’ll need a cookie sooner or later (probably sooner!).
And I love your sites because I love sweets — whether it’s ice cream, cupcakes or something else (hello fancy PB&J!), it keeps me coming back for more. Of course, your Asian-inspired savory recipes are delicious-looking, too!
Well, I didn’t use your recipe but you did recently inspire me to drag out our mini donut maker!
http://corgipants.blogspot.com/2010/07/mini-donuts.html
I especially LOVE Disney posts from you, they are so personal. I love reading all the little Disney details that most people probably just breeze right by.
I love your blog and your recipes…pick me pick me!
Love the lego mold but more so the Star Wars cookie cutters. No Williams Sonoma here so I’m bummed.
I have made your Peanut Butter Frosting about 5 or 6 times now — I am addicted! My FAVORITE thing to do with it, though, is to eat it right out of the fridge with some salty pretzels and oh boy, yum yum yum.
I follow your blog as a daily read for new ideas and recipes. I hope to make goodies next year for our farmers market and am always looking for great recipes. I also LOVE to homemake all our birthday/holiday cakes and cookies and now other goodies as well. I have 5 children and one of them(13)has gotten the baking bug! She will only make pumpkin pie from sugar pumpkins–no cans! LOL I am making chocolate brownie bombs this weekend and hope to use your peanut butter frosting on them!
I aint gonna lie, i just wanna win!
Last night I made the Kalue Pig in the crockpot and it was so good, I broke into my lunch container on the way to work and ate the pork for breakfast. I also enjoyed the strawberry green tea cupcakes.
I am a little nervous about making white cupcakes for my toddler’s bday party on Saturday. I have mastered (ha) the chocolate cake and I am nervous about moving on.
I love, love, love your praline cupcakes! I also enjoy looking at food entirely too much, which is why I am always reading your blog.
I go to your blog everyday to see if there’s a new post. I think you are an amazingly creative mom! Sort of reminds me of myself when my kids were little. Now that they are teenagers they still remember all the quirky fun things I did for them – like drawing faces on their bananas and leaving notes and surprises in their lunch bags.
I just went to Chinatown in NYC and saw a whole bunch of cool gadgets that made me think of you and your love for unique gadgets!
I also think you sons are so inventive and creative. They are going to grow up to be just like their mom!
Oh, I hope I win! I love seeing your creative recipes on your blog and love reading your funny stories about your grandma and your kids.
It’s hard to pick one recipe, I’ve liked so many! Ube ice cream cupcakes, donut cupcakes, nutella chocolate chip cookies, Hello Kitty oreos, ice cream sandwiches are just a few of my favs.
While I pretty much love all your recipes, the mochiko one is always a go-to in our house. Even if I don’t win, could you please tell me where to buy the lego ice molds? Thanks
I’ll be honest. I’m not much of a cooker, just a food gawker.
i love the hello kitty pirate cupcakes! i love HK and you added the eye patch and made my heart melt. π i love your blog cuz you make it soooooo reader friendly. plus i feel like you are my friend! π
xo
The mochi based cupcakes are by far my favorite recipe, its just something about the chew it gives them…. so delicious, especially when filled with tsuba-an, or strawberry jelly.
sheesh, I love so much about your blog. right now, I am liking the how to that you put together for ice cream cake. I am going to attempt it for my sister’s baby shower. yes, I live in Arizona. yes, the baby shower is in September. yes, Im crazy.
I ADORE your ovaltine pancakes. I have a deep love for malt, and that really just hooked me. Since then I love reading everything you post, and the musubi everything is awesome. My husband lives and breathes musubi, and I wish I could find the maker around Culver City. If anyone knows? Thanks, Jenn!!
Welll lets see. The facts that you are so darn creative and inspire me to try new things is always a bonus. I love the fact that you have treats as well as real food. I share your site with all my girlfrineds and they to are amazed with you delicious treats and meals… keep on doing what your doing L-O-V-E it !
I love coming here to check out your creative ideas! Loved the root beer sherbert and the carrot cake cookies!
The lemon muffins AND Lemon chicken stew in the crockpot, my husbands favorite is bacon wrapped meatloaf
One of my fav recipes is the lemon oregano chicken…YUM!
I tried making some of my own chocolate bon-bons using Shell since I didn’t have any real melt-able chocolate… sorta failed but I am going to try your REAL recipe soon!
Also want to try using a musubi maker to do those neat sandwiches… haven’t found one around here, though!
I love so many of your recipes and have tried lots of them, I think I love the lemon cupcakes with the heart cut out on top sprinkled with powdered sugar or the layered jello. Great giveaway
I love reading your blog daily to see what great receipts you thought up. I am going to make “little hamburgers” this week for my work meeting next week. Love your blog!!
I absolutely love all your innovativeness with the lego ice cube tray for chocolate and various other things. I think I might do that for shot glasses for the 21st birthdays coming up soon.
We really like the coffee mochi recipe! But I’m actually here right now to look for your honey/shoyu chicken recipe π Thanks for the fun giveaway — my son would LOVE those lego men & my daughter would enjoy the HK pasta π
the favorite I’ve tried (ok, only… I don’t bake a lot) was the star-burst baby shower cupcakes…. and I can’t wait until we decide to break out the donut maker here again because I’m going to try that recipe you’ve posted… the ones we’ve had so far have left a little something to be desired.:)
I’m new here, but I definitely love cupcakes! And Hello Kitty pasta.
This is my first time here, but I am totally intrigued by all the comments to go and look around find something fun to make.
Wow, this combines two of my six year old’s favorite things: Legos and ice. Giving him an ice cube at bedtime is a big treat. This would make him very, very happy.
OMG! Is that Hello Kitty pasta??!!! Pick me!
Chocolate anything is a given for me. But I like the WWYE? feature, and musubi creations.
I love your blog for the wonderful hello kitty recipes! I ended up getting the HK waffle maker for my birthday! My favorite recipe of yours is captain crunch chicken!
i love all your recipes.
and let me win!
I first came by your website when I saw your donut cupcakes. They are so cute! I don’t have a donut maker, but I’ve been dying to make them. I also love all of your ice cream and sorbet recipes. And I really, really, really want to try to make something with the musubi maker!!
Everything you make is great and I love trying your recipes! Lemon chicken, lemon spaghetti, chicken meatballs, meatloaf and of course all your cupcake recipes are always a big hit. My kids favorite has to be the broken glass jello though;)
I love your blog! My favorite recipe so far is the nutella chocolate cookies. My whole family loves it.
I started reading your blog after I saw some comments you made on other blogs I read. I love food pictures and cupcakes and there seems to be a lot of that around here. Yay!
Your blog is such a fun read. Thanks for sharing your passion, obsession and creativity for all things chocolate, cute, and mini.
i love reading all your unique simple recipes. i havent had a chance to try em out yet but i have tons of them bookmarked π
I haven’t made any of your recipes yet, but I’ve been coming here for months simply because you inspire me to get in the kitchen and bake (hubbie cooks, I bake.)
My favourite recipes are always cookies.
The only reason I haven’t made anything yet is because I’m in the UK and cups confuse me. (How do you measure a cup of butter?) I usually get inspired then guesstimate on measurements using whatever similar ingredients I happen to have in the cupboard.
Thank you for continuing to inspire me! Also Love the little lego men I’ve been hunting for them since I first saw them on your blog. No luck yet though.
Hi! I love your blog so much. My favorite parts are when you make those lunches for The Kid and The Baby. The lunches are so adorable, and I really want to get a little meal tray for myself!
I made the ice cream cake for my cousin’s birthday, and I used the chocolate cake recipe. All of my cousins loved the cake, and I thought the cake was so simple but very delicious.
I anxiously await for your next post! (:
Omg another giveaway! I’ve been reading your blog for a year and a half now, I would check it out every week, all my favorite recipes would be anything that involves HELLO KITTY!
I don’t really mind if I don’t win anything, but I just want to leave a comment and tell you how much I LOVE YOUUU and your blog
Have a great time at Comic Con π
P.S I hope I win though !
I’m going to make those marshmallow dipped in chocolate right now! They look great. Your recipes always turn out perfectly for me.
I discovered your blog this summer, and fell in love with it. You have inspire me to want to bake and cook cool foods for my children. Like you my daughter and I are a big fan of Hello Kitty, and my son is a big Star wars fan. I check your blog almost everyday. I have tried your Laker cupcake, didn’t come out right, because I bought the wrong gel (didn’t have purple at Michael’s). Looking forward to receiving more great ideas from you.
You’re funnier than joythebaker.
I have been visiting you blog for quite a while. I just love your wit. I try to check it daily just for the laughs. The way you see things is a riot. I have actually laughed at night and my teenage sons have come over to see what was going on. But beyond the wit, I love your recipes. I have made the very vanilla cupcakes and loved them so much. It is now a habit of mine to look up a recipe online, check out what they have at all recipe or Cooks and then I search your blog to see if you made it. Usually your recipes are more to my families taste. P. S. love the O.G. toons also. So thanks for all the laughs over here on the east coast. Denise
love the layered jello! easy, quick and pretty!
I have two favorite recipes from you recipe blog (actually they are all good). Your root beer pulled pork and shepherd’s pie recipe is my most go to recipes. I absolutely love your blog and look forward to reading it every day.

duude, root beer got TONS of votes! That one’s awesome but I gotta say that the lemon chicken has saved me a thousand times so I have to vote for it and give it props. π Whoah – I was looking through the comments and saw someone posted about nutella cookies? I’m sure I had them but I have since forgot – perusing for the recipe right now! I’m in for the HK pasta baby! pick me!
i LOVE all your recipes – even the ones i haven’t had a chance to make yet. there aren’t enough hours in the day to try all of your recipes but i’m trying! i would definitely say the blueberry mochi cake is one of my favorites. but it’s a difficult choice. i bake bday cakes or cupcakes for my 2 kids and nieces and nephews (7 of them!) so i love checking here for recipes. and of course, i have some terrible ritual of reading your recipes at like 11pm and torture myself!
I love your Batman cake and cupcakes. My son’s birthday party in on Saturday, and I was glad to find both. They are a dream come true to this home baker. Thanks for the ideas. You make it look easy! What with all of the specific instructions, you make it simple. Not to mention all of the campy photos that keep the fun in cooking!

I found your blog via the Food Librarian awhile ago and quickly became a faithful reader! You’ve got so many unique ideas that I want to try, but my indecision hasn’t helped me yet. One of my favorites was actually the chocolate Lego men….why didn’t I ever think to use fun ice cream molds for chocolate??
Have fun at Comic Con!
^^^ oops…ice *cube molds!
I am super scared of fondant! The humidity and heat in Hawaii make it impossible to work with!
i love cupcakes, i love hello kitty, and i loooove hello kitty cupcakes!
I love your blog for so many reasons. Your children are adorable, your stories are hysterical, and your recipes are amazing. I’m nowhere near as talented or creative in the kitchen, so I’m just totally in awe of your skill.
(I also love that your posts are usually short but concise. I know I can click on your blog in my google reader even when I’m in a hurry, and I can be entertained without putting in a lot of effort!)
That is easy…I love the hello kitty cupcakes best of all. Your blog is great!

I love your bacon garlic dip. It was so yummy with pretzel rods. And I just made a watermelon bomb for our 4th of July celebration! It was a complete success! There are many more recipes I want to try, I just haven’t found the time or the guinea pigs to test them on!
The Hello Kitty Oreos were what brought me here, but the cupcakes are the reason I stay. Mmmmcupcakes. My boyfriend’s been bugging me about the pineapple upside-down cupcakes, so next time I see him (whoo long-distance relationship), I’m going to make those for him. π
Hi! I stumbled upon your blog about a week ago and your recipes are totally inspiring! I’ve been dying to get a musubi maker to try making my own ice cream sandwiches and I’ve been looking for cute molds for chocolate too! Can’t wait to get more creative with cupcakes as well. Anyhow, thank you for continually updating your website with such fun reads, creative ideas, and your blogs. I tried your broken glass yellow for July 4th with my 2 yr old daughter! She’s allergic to dairy, so I had to use her Hempseed milk. Worked out just fine. π I was hoping I would see you at the Renegade Fair this weekend… π
