Halloween Grave Cupcakes
These are cute and spooooky for Halloween. I first saw these ‘Buried Alive’ cupcakes in the Clare Crespo “Hey There, Cupcake!
ingredients:
chocolate cupcakes (recipe)
chocolate frosting
chocolate cookies (Oreos), crushed
doll part arms
I used to buy tiny doll arms Stats, but they no longer sell them. Now I buy them online at Kit Kraft. Buy the SMALL ones. Large ones just look…freaky. Wash them. Dry them. I’m a germaphobe, remember?
Make your chocolate cupcakes, set them aside. Now, for the ‘grave dirt’ I ground up some chocolate cookies – these from Trader Joe’s worked out well, but so do Oreos. The white middle part will just dissolve.
I really need a food processor – this one that is an attachment to my blender, ain’t cutting it. But the little rocky bits do make it more ‘dirt like.’
Now frost the cupcakes and dip them into your freshly ground chocolate cookie dirt. Ah, deliciously creepy goodness. Tombstones would be nice, but who has the time…
oooh. I love these. They are so cute…in an icky and gross and perfect for halloween kind of way. Love it.
I made these this weekend and they were a big hit! I searched high and low for those doll arms, and finally snagged the last bag that my local Stats had, but it was worth it. Thanks for the awesome idea!

Yeah I heard Stats stopped carrying the arms, so i’m not sure now, sorry!
Get idea would love to make these but I cannot find the arms anywhere. Do you have any idea where to buy them?

Opps – it’s a floral supply store here in Los Angeles. Any floral/craft/doll store will probably carry them.
I cannot WAIT to make these, sadly I waited until the last minute to get the doll arms and had to buy cupcake topper dolls and rip their arms out at Michael’s in NY…$24 ! I think it will be worth it though 🙂

I love this idea and had seen it in ‘Hey, There Cupcake’ a while ago!
