Heart shaped Cereal Treats
If there’s one way to my heart (no pun intended), it’s heart-shaped food. So when I happened upon this Quaker Oats heart-shaped cereal I just found it so adorable, well how could I not buy it.
My intention wasn’t just for a healthy morning breakfast, although that’s good too, but Valentine’s Day is the best day for showing people you care, and what’s better than spreading love and happiness than with baked goods.
I can’t just leave them as is, I knew adding a touch of holiday pink and red M&Ms would take these tasty treats over the top for Valentine’s Day.
Make up a batch of these for the ones you love, and make sure you treat yourself while you’re at it. You deserve the most love.
Heart shaped Cereal Treats
Ingredients:
2 Tablespoons unsalted butter
40 regular sized marshmallows
6 cups Quaker Whole Hearts cereal
1 cup Valentine’s Day (pink, red and white) M&Ms
Instructions:
Prep a 9×13 pan by greasing it with butter.
In a pot over medium high heat melt the butter and the marshmallows until melted.
Turn the heat off and add the Whole Hearts cereal and stir to combine making sure all of the cereal gets coated.
Press into the prepped pan and sprinkle the M&Ms on top. Add a few extra cereal hearts so the shapes are visible, if desired.
Let cool and cut into squares.
Thanks for this recipe! I’m going to make it for my sons to give their day care friends tomorrow 🙂
