Homemade Peanut Butter Cups
The Kid is allergic to peanuts which means I get ALL the peanut butter cups I can handle at Halloween, right? That is unless they didn’t any in their haul. Can you believe it?? I had to take matters into my own hands – so I rummaged through the pantry and made these up quick. Craving: satisfied.
ingredients:
1 bar (3 or 4 ounces) of milk chocolate (Scharffen Berger is the BEST)
1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
paper liner cups
Set up the paper liners on a plate or tray.
In a small bowl mix together the peanut butter and powdered sugar. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt the chocolate over low heat, slowly and carefully – stirring constantly. Once melted put a teaspoonful into each liner.
On top of the chocolate add a small spoonful of the peanut butter mixture. Then add more chocolate on top of that to cover.
I like to pop these into the freezer to set, mostly because I can’t wait to eat them. If they are too hard, let them sit to soften up a bit, then consume wildly while the kids are asleep.
Funny you posted this, because I was just thinking I need to make some!! 🙂
I have nothing but the utmost respect for the genius who first brought peanut butter and chocolate together. It’s my fave combo EVA.
Necessity is the mother of invention… or something like that. Yum!
I was talking with a friend of mine today and he hates PB cups!
That is wrong on so many levels.
