Honey Mac Nut Pancakes
Whenever I go to Hawaii I like to check out all the varieties of macadamia nuts. Though most of the flavors eventually make their way to the mainland when my family comes from Hawaii they always bring me the latest and greatest. The Hawaiian Honey Glazed Mac Nuts are crunchy and sweet and while they’re great for snacking I knew they’d be a sweet addition to breakfast pancakes.
ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
2 Tablespoons honey
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1-1/2 cups whole milk
1/4 cup honey mac nuts, chopped
Additional honey glaze mac nuts for garnish
In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Make a well in the dry ingredients and add the honey, eggs, vanilla and milk until just combined.
Place a griddle on medium-high heat and add butter to melt. Ladle out the pancakes.
When the tiny bubbles on top of the pancakes start to pop, flip the pancakes over and cook until done.
Serve with a drizzle of syrup and a few honey mac nuts to garnish.
