Jenn’s BBQ sauce
For crock pot fans the allure is simple, add a mix of flavorful ingredients and the meat of your choice and dinner is out of your mind and onto the table with little to no work. It’s as good as a magic wand!
There’s nothing like coming home from a long day to a fragrant smelling house and dinner ready to go. I created this BBQ sauce recipe to go with basically anything, I put together the perfect combination of sweet, savory, spicy and citrus. On chicken, pork, beef, even basted on tofu, you can’t go wrong. This sauce won’t let you down!
Jenn’s BBQ sauce
Ingredients:
1 cup ketchup
3/4 cup orange juice
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 clove garlic, minced
1 teaspoon lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/8 teaspoon onion powder
pinch of cayenne
freshly ground pepper
1 tablespoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water to make a slurry
Instructions:
Mix up all the ingredients and and pour into your slow cooker. Cook on low for 4-6 hours.
Add cooked protein (shredded chicken, ribs, etc.) to serve.
