Just wondering…

Pardon me while I conduct a bit of research:

If you were going to a luncheon – What desserts would you LOVE to see there?

Thanks!

**Thanks for all the great ideas, they’re all useful and making me hungry!

    Key lime pie!!!

oh, and bread pudding with a bourbon cream sauce and salted caramel pudding and and rice pudding with cardamom and rose water. Wow, I guess I really like pudding.

I would also love lemon chiffon pie.

  2. PXH says:

Cheesecake with strawberries. Nice and simple.

  3. Margie says:

    Cupcakes.

  4. Editdebs says:

    Cupcakes or tiramisu

  5. Tierney says:

Anything chocolate!!! Nothing beats a chocolate dessert.

  6. Heidi says:

cupcakes. nothing extraordinarily heavy since it’s a luncheon.

    maybe even just fruit…

  7. Abie says:

Mini-cupcakes. Perfect size to just pop in your mouth.

  8. kelly says:

mini sea salt brownies, gorgeous pastel macaroons & black and white cookies

  9. Brownies, cookies, mini cupcakes and fruit (finger food type desserts).

  10. Kelly P says:

Any of your cupcakes in mini form. That way I’ll be able to have more than one flavor and not feel guilty.

  11. Sherry says:

i guess it depends on what kind of luncheon? but french macarons and chocolate covered strawberries are easy to eat and pretty to display.

  12. akgirl says:

Ooh mini cheesecakes, chocolate mousse, and macaroons. I agree with Kelly P, mini cupcakes so you can try more than one!

  13. ehme says:

    petits fours!

  14. S Club Mama says:

personal cheesecakes with an array of topping (cherries, strawberries, etc) OR cupcakes (I love love cupcakes) but filled ones.

  15. Gerta says:

    Key lime pie, hands down.

  16. CS says:

Bread pudding would make me super happy at any luncheon. Maybe lemon bars? Or fried pies! Yummy!

  17. poppy says:

chocolate chip cookies. cranberry and white chocolate bars. coconut cream pie. cocoa puffs (a la Leonard’s bakery in HI). ice cream soda floats.

  18. Sandra Dee says:

Anything mini-sized, so I could try multiple things and not feel like a full-on cow. Mini tarts, mini cheesecakes, mini key lime pies, mini cupcakes, mini red velvet cakes, mini black & white cookies, mini rugelach, mini brownies….

  19. Dawn C. says:

small cream puffs, brownie bites, mini cupcakes

  20. karyn says:

anything mini in a refreshing citrus flavor

  21. Nikki says:

    cupcakes, butter tarts, macarons

  22. lindsay says:

I agree with some of the other posters, little bites of light desserts. That way, I could eat a bunch without feeling sick the rest of the day.

  23. renee says:

Chocolate cake. Pie – any pie – all pies. 🙂

  24. Christa says:

    Petit Fours!

  25. Suzanne says:

    Pot de creme!

  26. kristine says:

mini-pies (not tarts), donuts, cupcakes. Mini size desserts are the best, you can fill up a plate w/ out looking like a beast.

  27. Abi says:

Cupcakes or cookies – something small, individually wrapped or contained, and sweet.

  28. Cindy says:

Chocolate mousse in shot glasses, mini coffee or chocolate flans, and a chocolate fountain with marshmallows, fruit, pretzel sticks, strawberries, pineapples, etc. for dipping.

  29. Ronda says:

All of the above. Cos that’s how I roll. 🙂

  30. Lorena says:

Anything bite-size is good, especially if there’s an array of desserts. That way, I can choose one of each and not miss out on anything (or look like a little piggy). Otherwise, I’m all about one fruity thing (maybe tiny tarts?) and something chocolatey (cupcakes are ALWAYS good) and something nutty (like tiny pecan tarts), so those with allergies can stay safe. Otherwise, smallish cookies are tasty!

Oh, and if it’s outdoors, chocolate fountains are BAD. You don’t even want to know what gets in there. Blech!

  31. Jodi says:

I definitely think a variety because if you just have something like cheesecake or key lime pie…blech. I also like everyone’s idea of mini things. Mini eclairs, mini cupcakes (chocolate and vanilla or something), mini brownies, mini cheesecake bites for those who like that, etc.

I don’t know, what you do for every party you’ve provided desserts for that I’ve attended also works!

  32. AmyG says:

I like the mini idea because I would want to try everything! Cookies, cupcakes, etc…

  33. Kasey says:

lots of little things, so I could have a couple different bites….
    cheesecake
    chocolate cake or cupcakes
profiteroles filled with vanilla ice cream and topped with good chocolate sauce
    tiny lemon tarts
    🙂

  34. Lauren says:

    Cookies!!!

  35. Melissa says:

    peanut butter whoopie pies

  36. dorian says:

    mini cupcakes
    anything with ganache
    fruit tarts with custard
decorated sugar cookies (like the cheap kind at the grocery store, with pink frosting)

  37. x3FLO says:

    cream puffs.
    crepes.
    strawberry cheesecake.

  38. Robin says:

Anything mini – cream puffs, cupcakes, little cheesecake bites. Anything you can pick up with your fingers.

  39. joyce says:

red velvet cupcakes, cream puffs, and the french macaron =) [something small and easy to eat, so maybe the mini cupcakes that you can just pop in your mouth w/ a couple bites].

  40. GiGi says:

Anything mini or single serve. From my experience, no one wants to be the one to slice into an otherwise uncut cake or pie.

Ooohhh and a chocolate fountain to dip all of the “minis” into. Yum 🙂

  41. Andrea says:

I think anything lemony right now since it is the season. Maybe a lemon meringue pie, or a lemon custard.

  42. Anna says:

Boston Cream Pie! Nobody ever makes it. It’s something you read about, but it’s never on menus and it’s NEVER at luncheons.

  43. Melissa says:

Cream puffs, Miniature creme brulee and strawberries with warm milk chocolate for dipping!

  44. nancy says:

    Cupcakes and chocolate covered strawberries

  45. Shari says:

nothing overwhelming so you could have more than one dessert. Like French macaroons and mini cupcakes. Little brownies and cute fruit tartlets.

  46. julie says:

depends on the meal….after a salad I want brownie bites dipped in chocolate ganache. If its a pasta, something light and fruity. bite-size is key….if someone hands me a slice of cake/pie, I feel like if I take even one bite I’m pigging out.

  47. LauraM says:

Chichi dango or zenzai. Ono for mochi!

  48. Nancy says:

    Lemon Bars!

  49. Jennifer says:

    pleaassseeee? O:-)

  50. justJENN says:

    @Jennifer
Basically those are just a lot of fondant work. Just keep rolling and cutting – think of them as puzzle pieces! Good luck!

  51. My fake teeth just fell into the kitchen sink because I laffed so hard while going over this story.
