Lumpy Space Princess Cookies
My friend Chrissy and I have the same taste when it comes to cartoons. Fun and creative, with a slant of adult humor thrown in for good measure. For her birthday last year I made her Gravity Falls Puking Gnome Cupcakes which is as crazy as it sounds. This year I decided to make cookies from a series that we both have been long time fans of – Adventure Time!
Adventure Time was created by Pen Ward, airs on Cartoon Network and is also a comic from Boom! Studios. It follows the adventures of Finn and Jake as they travel across the Land of Ooo and encounter villains and Princesses. It’s charming and weird, fun and crazy, everything you want from a cartoon!
The character Lumpy Space Princess is a fan favorite, she’s grumpy and sometimes rude but that purple sure is fetching. When I came across this flower side-of-the-cup cookie cutter, my first thought was, “That looks just like LSP!” Clearly I have a skewed view of the world. a touch of purple and a yellow star later and I had my floating Lumpy Space Princess cookies!

Lumpy Space Princess Cookies
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
violet food gel dye
yellow flower quins
black icing
Instructions:
In a bowl whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.
In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter and sugar. Add the egg and vanilla and mix until combined.
Add a few drop of violet food gel dye and stir.
Slowly add the flour mixture until combined. The flour will lighten the color so add more food gel dye if necessary.
Mix on medium high until the dough pulls away from the bowl.
Separate the dough into two discs and chill in the fridge.
When you are ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and prep baking sheets with silpats.
Roll out the dough to 3/8″ thick and cut out the shapes.
Move the cookies to the prepped baking sheets and bake for 10 minutes.
Let cool on a wire rack.
Add little yellow flower quins to mark the star on top of LSP’s head, securing it into place with a dab of frosting.
Then using a #2 tip pipe black icing for her eyes and mouth.
Once the icing is set, they’re ready to serve.
