May the 4th: Star Wars Day 2017
It’s that time again, Star Wars Day: May the 4th! 2017 is extra special because it’s the 40th anniversary of the debut of Star Wars. There are so many ways to celebrate—you can make crafts, create Star Wars-inspired food, and now we have so much Star Wars you can read books, watch TV shows—the Star Wars possibilities are endless!
This year I created a bunch of new recipes for starwars.com and not just sweet bakery items. Maz n Cheese, Mynock Wings, and even Yoda’s favorite: Root Leaf Stew.
I did a lot of crafting this year as well. DIY Director Krennic tissue capes and Star Wars ice pops. There were also old faves like Rebel and Empire cookies and Han Solo in carbonite Jello.
Looking back, this year was packed with fun. I was invited to speak at Disney’s California Adventure Food and Wine Festival about Star Wars food, then I headed to Florida for this year’s Star Wars Celebration Orlando and I held a panel on Star Wars: Food and Fandom. It was great to connect with readers who have been recreating my recipes and people who were looking for Star Wars inspiration.
Whether you throw an elaborate party or make it easy and use a Death Star popcorn maker to watch the movies withe friends, there are so many great ways to celebrate Star Wars with your friends and family.
