Mickey Mouse Donuts
Christmas, my birthday, nothing can compare to the holiday that rises above all others, I’m talking about National Donut Day! The first Friday in June is when we celebrate the pastry that wins over my heart. Crullers, old fashioned, sprinkles or no, donuts are the sweetest of treats. Combine that with Disney and you have the happiest donut on earth.
This Mickey Mouse donut is full of magical happiness and is sure to make any Disney fan smile. Happy National Donut Day!
Mickey Mouse Donuts
Ingredients:
ganache recipe:
1/3 cup heavy cream
3 ounces chocolate chips
you’ll need:
1 plain chocolate donut
5 ounce red candy melts
2 giant white heart sprinkles
2 Oreo cookies
Instructions:
In a saucepan over medium heat combine the heavy cream and chocolate chips. As it starts to melt, keep whisking constantly until completely combined. Turn off the heat and pour into a bowl and let cool slightly for 10 minutes.
Dip the donut into the ganache to cover and let set.
Once the chocolate has set, melt the red candy melts according to package directions. Dip half the donut into the melted red candy melts until coated. Add the heart sprinkles for Mickey’s buttons and let the candy melts set.
To serve, plate the donut with two Oreos placed on both sides of the donut. Add a small spoonful of ganache to coat the top of the cookie.
