Milk and Cereal Cupcakes
Wake up in the morning, shuffle into the kitchen, crack your eyes open to find your favorite box of cereal. Prize? No prize? Either way there’s nothing more comforting than milk and cereal for breakfast. The combination is pure heaven so obviously I had to put it into a cupcake!
A creamy, milk frosting serves as it’s own bowl for a spoonful of your favorite cereal right on top. Comfort and crunch in every bite, Milk and Cereal Cupcakes are the breakfast of your sweetest dreams.
Milk and Cereal Cupcakes
Ingredients:
vanilla cupcakes
cereal
milk frosting ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups powdered sugar
pinch of salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 Tablespoons whole milk, as needed
Instructions:
In the bowl of an electric mixer cream the butter while adding the sugar SLOWLY, a little at a time. Add the vanilla, then the milk as needed.
Once you get the consistency you want, turn the mixer up to medium high and WHIP it for about 10-15 seconds.
On top of the cupcakes, pipe the frosting in a circle, leaving a hole in the center. Let the frosting set to harden up a bit, then spoon your favorite cereal into the center and serve.
