mini DOMO meatloaves

DOMO is my muse. While I’ve made him into a Domo cupcake, of course Domo cookies were sure to follow. Even Domo chocolate was an inspiration to me.

He’s so simple and fun, I often find myself sketching Domo when I’m trying to work out a design problem.

So now it seems it makes perfect sense to go savory and make deliciously cute little Domo meatloaf! A fun way to make dinner little more entertaining.

Domo meatloaf

mini DOMO meatloaves

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup bread crumbs
2 Tablespoons brown sugar

decorations ingredients:
red bell pepper
one slice white cheddar cheese
sliced olives (just the ends)

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.

In a bowl, stir together the ground beef, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic and bread crumbs.

Form four little flattened loaves, squarish, and Domo shaped and place them on the wire rack prepped baking sheet.

Rub the tops of each loaf with the brown sugar. Bake 40 minutes or until juices are clear.

Prep the DOMO mouths by cutting a piece of red bell pepper into rectangles.

For the teeth, cut a 1/4″ strip of the white cheese, cutting out triangles to form the ‘teeth’ and lay it on top of the bell pepper.

Once the meatloaves are done, use a paring knife to cut out a small rectangle in the middle of the loaf and insert the bell pepper ‘mouth.’

Place olive ends onto the meatloaf to form the eyes and serve.

I am now forming plans to do a vegan version of this. Such a cute and hilarious idea.

I pretty much lost it when it came to the “family photo” bit. I then had to explain to my boyfriend why I was laughing so hard.

Todd hates meatloaf, but he promised he’d eat it if I made it like this.

  5. Gavin Veasey says:

    That’s one tiny meatloaf.

  6. Sandra Dee says:

The “x”s on the olives where they were de-pitted make it look like it’s The Final Moments of Domo. That works especially well as the “drunk cousin” in the “Family Picture.”

  7. Just made this recipe last weekend with my daughter. She enjoyed mixing the ingredients, shaping the meat and cutting out the cheese “teeth”! So much fun! Thanks!
