Opoli: Ridesharing in Safety, Comfort and Style

In Los Angeles, traffic is life and life is traffic, there’s no way around it. Public transportation isn’t exactly our go-to here, it’s cars all the way. Now there’s a new option, Opoli, the next generation transportation and service app.

Unlike other ride-sharing apps like Uber and Lyft, Opoli lets the customer take control. You choose the driver and type of car, view driver ratings and even make reservations!

Another great asset is that all Opoli drivers are commercially licensed and insured professionals which makes Opoli rides a safer and better alternative.

I attended the Opoli launch party where I got to try the app first hand. I downloaded the app, put my credit card in to register my account, then my destination.

Based on location, Opoli suggests a price that you can either accept or input your own amount. Drivers then bid on your ride and you can negotiate or accept the price.

I set my price, made my choice and made a reservation. The next day, right on time a TESLA was at my doorstep. Yep, out of all the options that’s the car I chose! Just me and my purse in the back of a brand new $85,000 car. Sitting on the 405 in traffic never felt so good!

My driver Dave was professional and courteous and answered all of my burning questions about Opoli and the beautiful car. In no time I was at the launch party where we watched a demo firsthand and learned about the app.

I got a chance to speak with KTLA’s Sam Rubin who hosted the launch party event and he told me that they’re trying out Opoli to bring in guests to the studio for the morning news. He said that he also got to ride to the launch party in a Tesla. Teslas for everyone!

As you may know, Uber and Lyft are not allowed to pick up or deliver passengers to the airport. ABC7’s Ric Romero was also at the launch party, and he reports that Opoli differs in that they are the only ones who offer the airport rides that consumers want and need. Opoli is currently available in Los Angeles County and will soon be available throughout Southern California and major cities across the US.
