Ovaltine brownies
Who doesn’t love that malty chocolate flavor of Ovaltine, it’s what childhood dreams are made of.
I’ve taken those familiar flavors and put them into brownies. Fudgy, chewy and malty, these brownies are little pieces of chocolate Ovaltine heaven. Serve with a tall glass of what else, Ovaltine!
Ovaltine brownies
Ingredients:
2 cups sugar
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup ovaltine
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter, melted
4 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup Ovaltine
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prep a 9×13 inch pan by lining it with buttered parchment.
In a bowl whisk together the sugar. flour, Ovaltine, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt.
Make a well in the center and add in the melted butter, eggs and vanilla. Stir until just combined then fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour into the prepared pan the evenly sprinkle the Ovaltine on top.
Bake 20 to 30 minutes, until the edges are crispy and the center is cooked through.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift out using the parchment and let it cool on a wire rack. Cut into squares.
