Phoenix Jean Grey cupcakes
My friend Sarah had a birthday and knowing that she loves Phoenix, I knew I had to make a spectacular cupcake.
Phoenix is one of the most iconic Marvel X-Men characters and her symbol is recognizable. I decided to make the Phoenix emblem out of melted green and yellow chocolate, make them into lollipops and use them as cupcake toppers.
The cupcakes were a big hit, but what was the perfect accessory gift to these cupcakes? A custom made 4 foot tall Phoenix pinata, what else?
Phoenix Jean Grey cupcakes
Ingredients:
green chocolate melts
yellow chocolate melts
Cookies N Cream cupcakes
Cream Cheese Frosting
Instructions:
Melt the green candy melts according to package directions and pour into lollipop molds. Set in freezer for 5 minutes, then pop out.
For the symbol, print out the Phoenix symbol to about 2-1/4″ inches and tape a piece of parchment over the print.
Melt the yellow candy melts according to package directions and using a drizzle bottle draw right on top of the parchment, outlining the Phoenix logo. Once that is all filled in, place the logos in the freezer for ten minutes. When they harden up they will slip right off the parchment.
Using more of the melted chocolate as ‘glue,’ stick the symbols to the front of the already prepared green chocolate lollipops.
Place the toppers into cupcakes and serve.
These came out really cute!
Holy Shatner, those have to be the coolest things ever. Seriously, EVER. Will you be my friend?
what I really like about the things you do is that they look so extremely difficult to make, but then you break it down into pieces and it’s like: “heeey, i think I can do that and it wouldn’t look awful.”
cool! I do candy melts all the time and usually melt them in a zip lock, but have been looking for easier way to do the “piping”…what brand drizzle bottles are they you have?? TIA!
So i saw your nice comments on twitter and my blog (thanks). I get on your blog and the first thing I see is a Jean Grey cupcake. Are you kidding?! That is awesome. I’ve read the Dark Phoenix arc so many times i cant even count. Well done. I will definitely be back.
Your talent and creativity never cease to amaze and inspire me 🙂
