Pokemon Onigiri Rice Ball

The kids love Spam Musubi, it’s a great portable snack. Sometimes the kids don’t always want an entire sheet of seaweed and luckily I found the perfect solution, Pokemon nori sheets!

So adorable and easy to use. They add just a little bit of seaweed and the images come pre-cut so you just punch them out. Gotta catch ’em all!

Pokemon Rice Balls recipe

Pokemon Onigiri Rice Ball

Ingredients:

3 cups cooked rice
Pokemon nori (seaweed)
fillings (optional): pork, chicken, ume, edamame, carrots, etc.

Instructions:

If you don’t have a rice ball maker here’s a simple solution: place a sheet of plastic wrap down and place a scoop of rice in the center. Add fillings if you want, then top with more rice.

Pull up the sides of the plastic wrap, twist and squeeze and form the ball with your hands and the plastic.

Unmold the rice balls and place a punched out sheet of Pokemon nori in the middle for decoration. Re-wrap the rice balls with a new piece of plastic wrap to keep them fresh and portable.

Can I use Jasmine rice to make Onigiri? By the way I am in love with this blog. You are a cooking hero and should be on food network cooking awesome Japanese stuff and cupcakes and geeky stuff like marvel and star wars. Onigiri looks super delish.I love spam!!
