Rascal Raccoon cupcakes
My friend Brendan Hay just released a comic book called Rascal Raccoon’s Raging Revenge from Oni Press!
Brendan has written for Robot Chicken, The Simpsons, The Mighty B! and Lucasfilm Animation. Rascal is his first full length graphic novel.
Rascal Raccoon is about what would happen if a cartoon character actually killed his nemesis? Think of all those years of Wile E. Coyote going after the RoadRunner. What would he do with himself if he succeeded?
To celebrate the release of Rascal Raccoon there was a signing at Meltdown Comics in Hollywood as well as a fun filled reading featuring the voices of Seth Green, Zeb Wells, Dan Milano and Heidi Gardner.
Hearing the dialogue in character voices made me laugh out loud. Such a fun way to celebrate the release of a comic!
And there were cupcakes of course! I am really on a melted choco-pop kick. Phoenix, Batman and now Rascal Raccoon art, what else?
First I made lollipops by melting candy melts.
Then I printed Rascal and Jackalope images in edible ink and transferred the edible images onto the lollipops.
Using a #5 tip I piped an outline of buttercream then dipped it into sanding sugar for a sparkly edge.
I put the lollipops into cupcakes, half red velvet and half vegan chocolate+peanut butter. And there you have it, Rascal Raccoon cupcakes!
Fun cupcakes for a great comic full of surprises!
