Sandwich Stackers
This was part of the Kid’s LEGO party, here.
I wanted something simple that the kids would want to eat. Since LEGO is all about playing and stacking and creativity, I though a ‘make your own’ sandwich type thing would be fun.
ingredients:
King’s Hawaiian Rainbow Bread
lunchmeat
cheese
I wanted it to be ‘fun’ so I instead of boring old white/wheat bread I went to King’s Hawaiian Bakery and picked up a fresh loaf of Rainbow Bread. I found out the hard way that they don’t bake Rainbow Bread on Mondays. BOO. Was it worth a second trip back a few days later? Heck yes, check out that neon!!
I cut the bread into thirds one way, same with the ham and the cheese. Then I arranged it in stacks so that the kids could get the idea of playing with their food.
Simple, no fuss, but lots of fun for the kids!
WOW. My daughter turned 4 on Saturday, and in comparison it looked like a 3 year old planned it 🙂 You have amazing skills!
WOW. I am so impressed. I get into theme parties, but you really… take the cake. 🙂
Hi there!
I just googled Rainbow Bread pictures and ended up here! I work at an Elementary School and a couple of kids have brought this bread before in their lunchboxes…they said it was bought in CA.
I live in Las Vegas and have never seen this bread for sale anywhere. I’m on a mad hunt to find it!!!! Can you tell me where you bought it at?
Thanks a bunch! PS–Cool blog by the way 🙂
@Jen
I’ve only seen Rainbow Bread sold in Hawaii and here in Los Angeles it can be found directly from King’s bakeries.
