Sanrio’s Newest Flagship Store Hello Kitty Hollywood
Hello Kitty is always a draw for fans of all ages. From young kids just discovering the kawaii character to adults who are nostalgic for the pen and pencil cases of their youth. So it’s no surprise that 45 years after her debut, Hello Kitty’s popularity is stronger than ever. Now Sanrio has opened their 2nd flagship store in Los Angeles at Hollywood & Highland.
A tourist destination, Hollywood & Highland is the perfect place because the store is an homage to the history of Sanrio and a love of Los Angeles. Never one to turn down a good collab, the store is chock full of Hello Kitty products from Japangeles, Converse, Herschel Supply Co, ProActiv, Crème Shop, PBTeen and more.
At over 3600 square feet, the boutique is instagram-heaven, with photo opps featuring beloved Sanrio characters like My Melody, Gudetama, and there’s even the oversized Hello Kitty PEZ dispenser featured in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp.
My personal favorite Sanrio character is Aggretsuko, and there is a huge amount of never before seen Aggretsuko product. The Aggretsuko area also features some of the best photo opp’s in the store, like her work desk where you can pretend to rage at your boss, and mics to pick up and sing your heart out to some death metal karaoke, Aggretsuko’s fave hobby.
In the Hello Kitty Kawaii Mart you’ll find snacks galore from around the world: cookies, candies, and drinks all make for the perfect souvenir for fans.
As if that isn’t enough, there’s Hello Kitty toilet paper, eyelashes, shoes, baby items, the list goes on and on. You’ll also find exclusive Hollywood-branded merch you won’t find anywhere else in the world. If you can’t tell, this is a Sanrio wonderland for local Hello Kitty fans and tourists.
Activations and workshops are coming, so that fans can get even more up close and personal with the Sanrio brand they love.
