Shazam! Cookies
I loved the DC Comics character Shazam!, especially the old 1980s cartoon. Now the superhero is getting a reboot for 2019 with the film “Shazam!” starring Zach Levi.
Since my kid is a DC Comics devotee I decided to make him some themed cookies to celebrate the 7th film in the DC Extended Universe.
These cookies are an ode to the character’s golden age comic book logo—bright red suit, gold lightning bolt—and perfectly sized for a school snack.
Now when you eat these cookies and say the magic word, will you transform into a god-like hero? That’s for you to find out.

Shazam! Cookies
Ingredients:
Sugar Cookie Dough
red icing
Yellow edible sugar sheets
Instructions:
Step 1: Roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thick.
Step 2: Use a 2-1/2-inch round cutter to cut out circles.
Step 3: Bake for 10 minutes and let cool on a wire rack.
Step 4: While the cookies are cooling, cut out the lightning bolt symbols from the sugar sheet. Set aside.
Step 5: Ice the cookies with the red icing.
Step 6: Remove the plastic backing from the cut out lighting bolts, and place shiny side down onto the iced cookies.
Step 7: When the icing is dry, the cookies are ready to serve.
