Star Wars by Vans
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away known as Orange County, Vans slip on shoes were born. At that moment not only were surfers and skaters lives changed, but so were anyone’s who revels in pop culture. Today Vans is bigger and better than ever and with their new licensing deals, the possibilities are endless for getting the coolest “Off the wall” shoes.
Just this month Vans released their new line of Star Wars Vans and seeing how LA is the center of surf culture I headed down to the beach to a Vans store to check out the merch for myself.
Star Wars fans are greeted by a life size Vader that doubles as a display for the shoes while classic Star Wars posters line the store walls.
While some of the designs definitely scream Star Wars, at closer look the subtler designs show an incredible amount of detail. The camo Boba Fett shoe is a gorgeous, mysterious blend of greens and a must buy for any Mandalorian fan. The Stormtrooper Bandana is striking from afar and even cooler when you get up close and see the Stormtroopers integrated into the detailed design.
Honestly, is there anything cuter than a baby Vans slip on that fits in your hand? And with a stormtrooper face on it, no less! My kids rocked the classic Vans Checkerboard slip ons when they were little and I’ve been a fan ever since. Tiny baby Vans are my downfall and they even come in newborn size 0-6 weeks, aka the tiniest little shoe you will ever see.
In addition to this classic Star Wars collection Vans has also released a Vault by Vans x Star Wars, a higher end collection with even more amazing designs. Even better news, a line of Star Wars Vans apparel is also on it’s way. Don’t mind me, I’ll just be clutching the Baby Vader Vans and waiting for the Death Star to explode.
