Star Wars Santa Grogu Cookies
Christmas is my favorite time of year for cookies. The seasonal challenge for myself is to take a regular cookie and add a little holiday spirit. I found these adorable Star Wars cookie cutters and thought Grogu could do with a festive outfit change!
I used matcha for the green dough and used red dough to add a colorful coat, a Santa hat, and lots of white icing for some fluffy flair. Sparkle is a must and a dusting of sanding sugar added a whole lot of glittery cheer. And just like that Santa Grogu was born!
This sweet baby has the Christmas spirit and is ready for hot cocoa, presents, and good ol’ holiday happiness. He’s the perfect cookie to set out for Santa on Christmas eve. Happy holidays!

Step 7: Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla, until combined.
Step 8: Slowly add in the dry ingredients just until the dough comes together. Split the dough into two and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill until you are ready to use.
Step 9: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prep baking sheets with parchment paper.
Step 10: Roll out the green dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use the cookie cutter to cut out Grogu’s head, then transfer onto the prepped baking sheets.
Step 11: Roll out the red dough to about 1/4 inch thick. Use the cookie cutter to cut out Grogu’s body and then use a knife to cut out a hat shape. Transfer onto the prepped baking sheets, aligning the body with the head. Slice off a small piece of the head, to align the hat.
Step 12: Bake for 10 minutes, let cool on a wire rack.
Step 13: In the bowl of an electric mixer, stir together the powdered sugar and meringue powder. Slowly add the water until the icing is combined. Add a teaspoon of water if necessary, to get the right consistency.
Step 14: Separate ½ cup of icing into a small bowl, then stir in the black food coloring to dye the icing black. Separate another ½ cup into a separate small bowl, stirring in the pink food coloring to dye the icing pink. Set aside. Place the remaining white icing into a piping bag.
Step 15: Use the icing to pipe a large white scarf, and white fluff across the seam where the hat and the head meet. Add a poof of icing at the end of the hat. Sprinkle with sparkling sugar sprinkles.
Step 16: Use the black icing to pipe eyes, and the pink icing for the ear details.
Step 17: Once the icings have dried the cookies are ready to serve.
