Star Wars Snacks at Disneyland

Star Wars Land is coming to Disneyland! While we still have to wait until 2019, Disneyland is starting to test the waters by slowly doling out fun merch and snacks. Little by little treats from a galaxy far, far, away have infiltrated Tomorrowland in fun and interesting ways.

The newest addition to the snack world is the churro lightsaber. Available exclusively at the churro cart in Tomorrowland, they are sold as “red” or “blue” churros. Though they’re not technically calling it a lightsaber, we all know that’s what it is. Star Wars fans know that one stands for the dark side and one for the jedi.

The glittery snack first debuted at Star Wars Galactic Nights in Walt Disney World. There they came with a cool paper holster that made them look like real lightsabers, aka the best instagram photo opp ever.

Here at Disneyland the churros are only served up with the traditional piece of wax paper, so you’ll have to use your imagination to create the full lightsaber effect. More than just sparkly sugared treats—these special churros have an edible star glitter that makes them even more showy.

Candies have appeared with packaging that features beloved characters. Chocolates and tubs of cotton candy are easy to take back home for souvenirs, while bagged treats are great to grab and go for sharing while waiting in ride lines.

New to Disneyland are the strangely named Cinna-Ren Candies, basically Hot Tamales that feature the galaxy’s most-hated son—Kylo Ren. Sour Blast Bits are sour cherry gummi candies, I’m going to pretend that under their helmets each Stormtrooper is making a sour-puckered face from eating one of these.

Tasty Astromech Treats which are orange sour balls to resemble BB-8, and Chewie Candy which are blue raspberry gummis. It seems like the Chewie Candy should’ve been something more wookiee-like but who knows, maybe blue raspberry is a favorite on Kashyyyk.

New items seem to be popping up every week and it’s exciting to think that in a few years we’ll finally get a full land dedicated to Star Wars, filled with even more wonderful merch.
